Tendon & Soft Tissue Repair
Tendon and soft tissue injuries are common among athletes and active populations, often requiring a multidisciplinary treatment approach. This session explores surgical and non-surgical techniques for treating injuries such as rotator cuff tears, Achilles tendon ruptures, and ligament sprains. Emphasis will be placed on biologic therapies including PRP, stem cells, and scaffolds, as well as advances in suture technology and minimally invasive repair methods. Rehabilitation protocols tailored to tendon healing timelines will be reviewed, with attention to eccentric loading, neuromuscular control, and return-to-play criteria. Presenters will also discuss diagnostic imaging for tendon pathology, outcomes of operative vs. conservative management, and emerging research in tissue regeneration. This session provides essential knowledge for optimizing healing and minimizing reinjury risk.
